London Zoo: Land of Lions

As frequent visitors to ZSL London Zoo, it came as no surprise Bubs wanted to go and see the lions as soon as they were back from their holiday. So...on Easter weekend, powered by chocolate we wandered across the (Primrose) hill towards the zoo. The brand spanking new Lions of the Land is huge. Spanning 2500 sqm, the exhibit transports visitors to India's vibrant Sasan Gir.

It's clear that a lot of thought was put into planning the area to provide an immersive indian themed experience, including a train station, a crumbling temple and a high street with shops for role playing.

The rickshaws were a great touch and proved to be popular with the zoo's mini visitors!

The makeover is a definite improvement from the previous layout, visitors can now see the beautiful Asiatic lions closer than ever. However, it should be noted that when the lions go inside, they are completely away from the viewing public. When we first arrived, we spent a good 10 minutes walking around the complex searching for the lions - turned out they were hiding inside from the rain!
